Jesus is of God

Jesus is of God
One of the purposes for me writing these blogs is to tell who Jesus. This post addresses this point directly
The Book of Acts tells this incident that occurred about two of Christ’s disciples who had been told by the religious leadership of their day not to speak of Jesus. They  were caught despite the warning, speaking about Jesus publicly. It records,
“We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”
Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men!
The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead—whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree.
God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death.
But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while.
Then he addressed them: “Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men.
Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing.
After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered.   Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.
But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” Acts 5:28-39.
The question regarding Jesus and Christianity as a whole is, is it of God?
I as a Christian believe Jesus is all he says He is. The Son of God, the Saviour of mankind.
Jesus is recorded as saying, “I and the Father are one.” John 10:30. Meaning he is one with God the Father.
Marks Gospel opens with,
The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” Mark 1:1. So mark believed Jesus was the Son of God.
The apostle John speaking about the reason he wrote his gospel states,
“Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:30,31
John states the same thing in 1John stating,
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.” 1John 4:14,15.
John’s gospel records Jesus as asking the question we all must answer when it comes to Jesus,
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;  and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes Lord” she told Him, “I believe you are the Christ the Son of God, who was to come into the world,” John 11:25,26,27.
I believe as Martha did. I believe history has proven He is of God. That history has proven Jesus is from God.
The proof is as they say in the pudding.
Christianity has grown from a tiny sect of Judaism in a backwater of the mighty Roman empire to the largest religion in the world today.
Christianity despite persecution throughout history and all over the world even today is still growing.
Those who have tried to eradicate it have all fallen by the way side. Many just footnotes in history. Many more forgotten all together.
The question is who do you believe Jesus is.
Why not take some time to read the New Testament and see for yourself what his followers believed about him? Why not pray and ask God to show you the truth.
Please, think about it.
