The Exact Representation

The exact representation
The writer of Hebrews states,
"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father’” ?
Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son” ?
And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire.”
But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will scepter for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
                                                                                    Hebrews 1:1-9.
The writer of Hebrews make it abundantly clear what true Christians believe of Jesus.
1. “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being”
2.  He provided purification for sin.
3. He is superior to the angels.
4. He is God’s Son.
5. He is God’s first born brought into the world.
6. His throne will last for ever and ever.
7. Righteousness is His sceptre
8. God, has set Him above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
That in a nutshell is what Christians believe about Jesus.
John’s gospel records what Jesus said about himself. He said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”.
                                                                                                         John 3:16-18.
Christians present these beliefs to people every day. To accept or reject.
C. S. Lewis made an interesting statement when he said,
‘Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
                                            C. S. Lewis
There is no middle ground with Christianity, you either believer Jesus is the Son of God, God in the flesh and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour or you do not.
If what Christians believe is true and I believe they are. Your decision has eternal consequences.
So what do you believe?
Please think about it.
