An amazing thought

  An Amazing thought

In the gospel of John we read,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men....

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " John 1:1-4,14.

Here is an amazing statement. According to the apostle John, God who created the universe and everything in it came to earth as a man. This man, Jesus.

The early disciple and followers of Jesus all believed this. Martha a friend of Jesus when asked by Jesus,

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;  and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

"Yes Lord" she told Him, "I believe you are the Christ the Son of God, who was to come into the world," John 11:25,26,27.

In the John 1:1-14 the apostle John make it clear that he believed Jesus to be the creator of the universe. All of the writers of the New Testament believed this.

Think about this for a moment. If what the disciples believed is wrong. Then Christians have perpetuated perhaps the greatest lie of all time.

C. S. Lewis states,

A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.

So who do you think Jesus is?

Please think about it.
