Do you Confess Christ?

Do you Confess Christ?
The apostle Paul said,
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” Romans 10:9-13
Do you confess that you love God, that you love Jesus? By that I don’t mean get all fanatical and force Jesus and your beliefs down someone’s throat. I mean, do people see Jesus in all aspects of your life?
I have met many well meaning Christians who talk endlessly to those around them about Jesus. They never talk about anything their listener wants to talk about. Which unfortunately causes people to tune them out or worse stay away from them.
Other Christians try to force their beliefs or morality on non-Christians. They judge those who are not Christians. This is contrary to what the apostle Paul wrote when he said,
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:12,13.
Even Jesus gave us such a warning when He said,
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1,2.
If you judge someone by your moral standard then they may judge you by theirs and you may not like it.
We need to have a balanced approach when it comes to confessing Christ in our life. We need to witness with wisdom. Meet the person where they are at. We need to listen to what they have to say. Then tell them as much about Jesus as they are willing to listen to.
Not only that but we must do this without judging them.
Francis of Assisi said two important things Christians need to practice when he said,
“Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”
And
“The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today”
What is your sermon saying?
Please think about it.
