You and God

You and God

"Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God."
1 Corinthians 3:16-23
Paul tells them and us that as believers in Christ we are God’s temple. God’s spirit lives in us. That we as believers are sacred unto Him.
Paul also admonishes us not think ourselves wise by the standards of our age. But rather “become a fool” so that we may become wise. In other words be humble, be teachable. Be willing to learn from scripture and believes around us. And we can learn from anyone.
I’ve seen children in a simple Sunday School play minister to adults. To teach them scriptural truths and build up peoples faith.
Paul also  notes the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.
Man is not very wise we only have to look around at the problems in the world today and see what a mess he’s allowed the world to get into.
Even when it comes to knowing Christ, there are many out in the world that think the message of the Gospel foolishness or too simple to be true.
Finally Paul says,
“So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.”
Simply put, because of our relationship to God through Christ they, the Corinthians, and us are heirs to all things.
We are heirs of the ministries of all those who have faithfully promoted the gospel throughout history.
We are in Christ and Christ is in us.
Think about it.
